Last night Denise and I has the opportunity to attend a "Road to Victory Rally" with Sarah Palin in Elko Nevada. The event was held at the Elko High School.

The evening began at around 6:30pm (November 3, 2008) when we decided to head over to Elko High School to get in line for the event. The published time for the doors to open was 8:00 pm. When we arrived there was two lines with about 100 people in each. We waited, talked, enjoyed watching others and talking politics. Shortly after 8:00 pm we entered the Gym through Secret Service screening and began to enjoy a seat, company, music by the EHS Band with some dancing from the EHS Cheerleaders. This went on for over two hours before Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska arrived into the community by jet.

When she (Gov. Palin) arrived she was introduced by the Mayor of Elko and her entourage included herself and husband Todd. Also with them were his and her parents, Sarah's brother and the Secret Service gang. Sarah's dad spoke first and he said very little but to the point. He said... " at age 12 I taught Sarah how to field dress a moose, tomorrow she will field dress a donkey".

We got home about 12:30 am in the morning. Great evening in Elko. Go McCain/Palin 2008. Here are some pictures from the evening...

Fall Family Update

Well, its been several months since we last posted; and what a time it has been.

The last several weeks Rick has been calling all over the USA (Battleground States) supporting the McCain/Palin 2008 campaign. This last week he has averaged 250 call a day. We have been eating, sleeping and working this effort. We hope we can pull off an upset on November 4th.

Halloween has come and gone. We went to some friends home for a party the weekend before and then we just stayed home to hand out candy. Each year the number of trick or treaters seems to get smaller and smaller. This year we had about 12. We purchased four bags of candy at Walmart, only handed out part of one, eat one ourselves (Kit-Kats) and took two back the next day. It seems with the new homes in the neighborhood, the kids are going to them for the bigger stuff. That was ok with Rick, it allowed him to make McCain/Palin calls all evening.

Park City Holiday

Denise & I just returned home from our Independence Weekend in Park City UT. We had a very enjoyable time together both just enjoying the county side and finishing up some repairs to the cabin. Here is a picture of one of our visitors. Over the weekend we were visited by two Moose's. The first visitor had two mooselings (calves) but she and they were not real camera ready and moved on rather quickly.

It Sunday morning & I am ready for church. I tried to review my children's Blogs but was denied by two of them. So, I decied to create my own.

Denise and I spent last week traveling the Sweetwater River area of Wyoming with the youth from our Stake. We spent two days at Martin's Cove, one day at the Willie Center (Six Crossings) and then the last day at Rock Creek Hollow. What an experience, 38+ miles over the three days with handcart in tow over the Mormon Trail. Even though it was not late October, the feelings of the Willie & Martin Handcart Companies was present.
